About Me

More than just engineering.

I’m driven by curiosity, fueled by purpose, and committed to using my skills to solve problems that actually matter to people.

Who I Am

Engineer. Leader.
Lifelong Learner.

Hi, I’m Aidan Asante, an incoming Electrical & Computer Engineering student at Vanderbilt University and a Posse Foundation Full-Tuition Leadership Scholar. I’m passionate about the intersection of hardware, software, and human impact.

Engineering, for me, has never been purely technical. It’s a way of thinking that pushes me to ask better questions, sit with hard problems, and build things that actually matter to people. That mindset has taken me through research labs, leadership programs, and late nights writing about semiconductors for readers who never studied them.

Most recently, that mindset has meant taking ideas all the way to production: founding and shipping AnchorPoint, an AI-powered college companion app, building independent ECE portfolio projects spanning power systems modeling and fault-tolerant circuit design, and earning industry certifications in cloud computing and agile project management along the way.

Journey

A timeline of
growth and exploration.

  1. 2022–23

    Roots in Leadership & Service

Interned at A–Z Primary Care Clinic, led the Stock Market Club as President, and deepened involvement within my community through volunteering. Began exploring the intersections of STEM and community impact.

  2. 2024

    Recognition & Research Begins

Received the African American Recognition Award. Launched early research exploration and began developing NexNotes as a space to write about engineering for a broader audience.

  3. 2025

    A Year of Intensive Engineering

Rice University Precollege Engineering Program — Chiplet Architecture capstone. NSF Biomedical Engineering Program at University of Houston. UTSA Mechanical & Electrical Engineering Camp. University of Oklahoma Engineering Days. Named Commended National Merit Scholar and AP Scholar with Distinction. Designed and deployed aidanasante.com.

  4. 2026

    Building, Certifying & Shipping

Graduated high school and became a Posse Foundation Full-Tuition Leadership Scholar. Earned the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner and Professional Scrum Master I (PSM I) certifications. Founded and launched AnchorPoint, an AI-powered college companion app built on React and Supabase. Completed a technology support internship in a HIPAA-regulated environment and built out an ECE portfolio spanning power systems modeling, fault-tolerant circuit design, and embedded sensing.

  5. 2026

Vanderbilt — ECE & Posse Scholar

Beginning Electrical & Computer Engineering at Vanderbilt University, Class of 2030. Looking ahead to research, internships, and continued writing.
